For the month of June there were 138 missed appoointments. This is a reduction of 30 on the May figure of 168 and 50 on the April figure of 188. Text messaging reminders commenced on 17th May 2009, so we are seeing a slight reduction as a result of introducing this new service. Having said that 138 missed appointments are still far too many and we need to see a further reduction, so that we can offer these missed appointments to other patients who need them. Please help us to help you by cancelling your appointment as early as possible if you are unable to attend. You can cancel in various ways.
- If you made the appointment via Emis access, you can also cancel via Emis access.
- If you made the appointment over the phone or in person, you can cancel them in the same way.
- You can cancel any of these appointments by completing the online cancellation form, found on the right under the heading "Do it online"..., 24 Hours of the day, 7 days of the week.

HPV (Human Papillomavirus vaccination) 7th July 2009
The HPV vaccination programme is currently being undertaken as part of the routine childhood vaccination programme delivered in schools. It is however recognised, that some of the 16-18yr old cohort will have left education and therefore we are currently offering the vaccination in Practice to this age group.

If you have been diagnosed with, or are suspected of having, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (CFS/ME) and you live in Lancashire or South Cumbria, you can be referred to this service.
