Text Messaging Reminders Suspended PDF Print E-mail

At a recent review of the text messaging service to patients it was decided to suspend sending out reminders until further notice. This decision was due to two issues. The first was because some patients were receiving reminders for telephone appointments and coming into the practice when the doctor was only meant to give them a phone call and the other reason was due to patients sharing their personal mobile numbers with other family members. If we find a way round these issues we will review the situation again. In the meantime please do let us have your personal mobile number and make sure we have any changes in your persoanl details. If you would like to let us know what you thought of the text messaging service please complete this simply Yes / No survey on the right of the screen. Thank you.
 
Seasonal FLU Vaccination Clinics PDF Print E-mail

Once again the Seasonal Flu Vaccination Clinics commence. This year they are being held on

Saturday 26th September from 8.30 - 11.30 am

and

Saturday 3rd October from 8.30 - 11.30 am 

The Flu vaccine is for patients over the age of 65; a Carer(Carers Form); or suffer from a chronic disease like diabetes, heart disease or breathing difficulties. If you suffer with a chronic disease which meets the criteria you should receive this week an invitation letter asking you to contact the Health Centre to make an appointment. Please bring this letter with you when you come to make your appointment or have your flu vaccination.

Appointments can be made over the phone, in the Health Centre or Online, using Emis Access. (Emis is the name of the software we use to record patient details). If you do not have a pin number to make an appointment online, simply complete this online request form or call in at the Health Centre and ask. Please note the appointments are in General Flu Clinics and not with one particular clinician. 

Consent. We also have to obtain consent from patients before administering the Vaccine. Please download this form, Flu Consent Form or pick up from reception, complete and bring with you when you have your flu vaccination appointment.

Carers. If you look after someone who could not manage without you then you are a Carer and need to complete the Carers Form. Please hand it in when you next come for an appointment or post to us.

Loose fitting clothing. It would also help speed up the process if you could expose your arm prior to going in for your vaccination.

Transport. If you live in the vicinity of the Health Centre, it would be appreciated if you could walk to your appointment, if you are able. If you come by car, please park courteously so as not to inconvenience our immediate neighbours. Thank you.
 
Missed Appointments Decreasing PDF Print E-mail

Since the introduction of text messaging reminders for appointments on the 17th May 2009, we have seen a steady decrease in the number of missed appointments. For the month of August there were still 107 missed appointments of which 29 patients we had mobile numbers for. The other 78 patients we had no mobile number for. If you do have a mobile number and would like us to send you a text reminder message for appointments, then please complete the form online or at reception.

Since the 1st March 2009 to 24th July 2009, there have been 380 Prescriptions ordered through the online Repeat Prescriptions form. You can order whenever it is convenient to you. Better still, if you register on this site which takes seconds, it will remember your last order each time you log in. A new form has been created which is even easier to use.
