URGENT MEDICATION REQUESTS
Due to a large increase in URGENT Medication requests, please be advised of the following advice:
1. It is your responsibility to order your repeat medications in good time.
2. Only specific types of medications will be put through as urgent.
For example: Anti-Parkinsons, Insulins and Anti-Convulsant (Epilepsy Medications)
3. Medication requests for holidays – We appreciate wanting to ensure you have a supply, however patients are reminded that orders should be ahead of the holiday. We have been getting multiple requests for medications for holidays wanting the same or next day.
4. Non urgent medications will be processed in accordance with our advised turnaround, which is currently 4-5 days.
5. Medication orders should not be over the phone. Paper orders, emails and via mobile apps are the preferred methods.
6. Urgent or duplicate orders (e.g. for holidays) must be requested via paper or email, as the apps no longer have a message function and are therefore likely to be rejected as an early request.
7. Orders that are placed early with no reasoning will be declined.
8. Those who have shared care medication and do not keep up to date with the monitoring may find their requests are declined. Please work with the practice to keep your monitoring up to date (usually 3 monthly, 6 months or annually)
Thank you in advance,
Great Eccleston Health Centre
